The Jungle Map, your guide through internet marketing

Here’s What I’ve Been Doing (you asked)

July 7th, 2014

It has been six months since my last blog post.

I started blogging (on this domain) 8 years ago and this is the longest I’ve ever gone.  Here’s why…

For those of you that know me well, you know that I spent the first half of last year working as the Director of Internet Marketing Services at Ephricon.  I left there in August 2013.  Pretty quick after, I was able to start working again with several of my favorite clients and a couple new agencies.  I still do that.  When you have good clients, life is good.

Client work keeps me sharp, keeps me connected, and hopefully is always a win-win.  I only take a few clients on retainer in order to consult with them and train them, typically.  Some are agencies.  Others are businesses that need the help.

But beyond that, I’ve been focused on my e-commerce business and my new Amazon business.

Our e-commerce business is doing great.  This year is up 20% over last year, which is up 20% over the year before.  As the CEO and CMO, it’s great to have a loving wife working part time as my office manager, and two very good friends part time as our sales and customer service.  We make a great team.

So why did I stop blogging for so long?

For one thing, I’m not doing much training, so I’m not as focused on building my following or gaining attention.  I’m more than happy to quietly build my e-commerce business.

But also, I’ve been incredibly focused on my new Amazon business.  What to hear more about that?  (It’s pretty cool!)  In the next few blog posts, I’ll be giving more details on:

It’s been way too long.  I’ve got a lot to explain.  Let’s keep going…

It’s not just blogging

Oh, one more thing.  It’s not just blogging that I have forsaken.  Several of my sites are neglected, ignored, and downright broken.  Yea, I’ll get on that (someday).  But this Amazon stuff is way more interesting…
