Charlotte BarCamp 2009 – What to expect
The Charlotte BarCamp 2009 website is now up and taking registrations. Anyone can register for free.
As most of you know, Charlotte WordCamp 2008 was a great success. Thanks to Jason Keath for making it happen. But Charlotte BarCamp may quite likely be even bigger and better. Charlotte is ripe for these kinds of online media conferences.
So what is a BarCamp?
The general idea is that everyone gets together to learn from each other in an open and social environment. Anyone is welcome to attend, share, and present.
At the beginning, anyone will be allowed to post a topic on a white board or paper. Those that want to hear that topic will “sign up” to attend. At that point, we all break into different rooms and collaborate and learn from each other. It’s all free.
You can also read the explanation on BarCamp Charlotte here or the Wikipedia article here.
I have not attended one before. But I have heard from several that have that it is a great opportunity to learn and network. Come on out and meet the people you follow and learn from online.
I’ll be planning some great topics to talk about. So please register now in order to attend Charlotte BarCamp 2009!!
