Wow. Looks like Mr. Asheville Homes (I wonder if that's his real name) is an Apple Fan Boy. We don't have too many of those here. I think most of you know my experience and feelings toward Apple products so I'll spare you the reply. It's not really where I was intending to head with this post anyway.

The only other company to come anywhere close is Apple, but they will not (and don’t even want to) gain the market share that Microsoft and Google do. Apple prefers to have the overpriced hardware and software that feels exclusive and expensive. (The stuff the “cool kids” want.)

Huh? Overpriced? Do you have a Mac or PC? I am guessing PC even though every major player in internet marketing and seo are using Mac. As for overpriced in a world driven by video a Mac can create, render and publish a video faster then a PC. (with most of the software shipped with said Mac) So the time saved more then makes up for price. Go back and look at Andy Jenkins go over this very concept in a Formula Five sales video. Remember time is money and with screen capture software being a big thing which PC users pay 300 for while Mac pays 150. The difference is more then made up for.

PS: Apple has 31 Billion dollars just sitting around.

Good question, Brian. It seems as if many are diving into Foursquare lately. I understand the concept, but I've been working on some very specific projects for my business lately and therefore have not gotten around to playing with it. I've always been a bit of a marketing guy and not so much about "playing with" social media. So I'm curious to see the potential of such a site. I'll let you know when I jump in.

I'm looking forward to getting a Verizon Android phone soon. Perhaps that will motivate me to play with Foursquare more, too.

Great insight, Corey. Do you think Foursquare has much chance of taking the #3 social media & #1 geolocation spot? I've been using it and see huge potential but also a lot of red flags like requiring a GPS-enabled smartphone, the importance of visiting multiple public locations frequently outside work/school hours, and how they handle the inevitable spam/troll issue that will come in their locations, tips, to-dos, etc. What do you think?
