Hi Corey,

Um, I was just taking care of Sphinning this, discovered I "had" to update my profile there, and got to the part where you can enter all your SMM profile names & stuff. And also for entering your blog's address and your blog FEED address. I didn't even know what it was :-) I don't know if it's still of any use to provide blog feed addresses to sites such as Sphinn????

Well, RSS is still good for creating some easy backlinks. Err, I mean reach, because I certainly wouldn't suggest that anything be done strictly for the purposes of enhancing Google rankings. :)

And unfortunately, even though links on http://m.twitter.com/ have the nofollow tag removed, they've disallowed Google from crawling that subdomain. So in that sense, RSS has one benefit, at least!

I first joined Twitter for exactly this reason. On Twitter, I could monitor so much more -- all the blog posts of the people I follow, plus all the gems they found on other people's blogs. I used to call it RSS on steroids. I have, of course, discovered that Twitter is so much more: a gathering of clans, the water cooler of the Internet, a huge networking meeting, not to mention a great way to show the entire world that I make spelling mistakes. But "RSS on steroids" is still the best way I can describe Twitter.
