2008: Exciting Hippo stuff coming up!

Today is the first day of 2008.

As I did last year, below are some interesting comments about what we’ve done recently.  But what’s more exciting is what’s coming up this year.

The Past (2007)

What an awesome year 2007 was.  In looking back, I can’t believe that we got as much done as we did. 

As hard as I personally try to work, I know that I owe almost all of our successes to others.  I am extremely grateful and humbled by the assistance of others, including (but not limited to) the below.

Employees:  Thank you to all three of you for the hard work you do each and every week.  Sandy does our financials, taxes, and is my partner and coach in business and life.  Jason has been with me for almost four years now and I greatly appreciate how much I trust him.  Shannon has been critical to the setting up of our new training programs.

Partners:  We greatly appreciate the assistance of Unique Blog Designs, Lynch Graphics, Volusion, Mountain Media, ClickTracks, and others in doing what we do.

Colleagues:  We continue to enjoy working with Ty Downing, Fiona Dudley, Chris Easler, and others.  But new colleagues were also made in Charlotte, including Keith Schilling, Eric Johnson, Wayne McBryde, Nathan Pulver, Wes Grasty, Lou Amico, Dave McDaniel, and others.

Clients:  Special thanks to our clients.  We took no new clients during most of 2007.  Our existing clients continue to be a real pleasure to work with.

Overall, 2007 was the year of the setup.  We relocated to Charlotte and have a wonderful new office.  We also created a new website for our classes.  I even have a brand new look for our blog coming out very soon!

The Future (2008)

Now that we are setup as well as we are, our goals for 2008 are changing.

Clients:  We’ll be working harder than ever for them.  It’s doubtful we’ll take any new ones.  However, I would like to get more involved with consulting for advertising & marketing agencies as I do already.

Internal projects:  We will improve what he have and try to resist the urge to start new things.

Training:  Now that our SEO training site is up and taking registrations, our goal for 2008 is to build out and hold the repeatable classes so that they will be informative and enjoyable.

Most importantly:  The biggest change for 2008 will be our blog.  The new design is coming soon.  We will start building textual, audio, and visual content that will be more directly beneficial for our audience and keep personal comments on my personal blog.
